As per the above example of 1BHK apartment, the total energy consumption for Incandescent bulb is 800 watt + 200 watt + 400 watt + 900 watt + 1000 watt = 3300 watt say 3.3 units per day. So, you consume 1205 units per year.
As compare to 100 watts incandescent bulb CFL takes an average 20 watts.
So the total energy consumption for CFL bulb is 800/100×20 = 160 watt + 200/100×20 = 40 watt + 400/100×20 = 80 watt + 900/100×20 = 180 watt + 1000/ 100×20 = 200 watt, so in total 160+40+80+180+200=660 watt say 0.66 units per day. So, you consume 240 units per year.
As compare to 20 watts CFL bulb LED takes 50% or an average 10 watts.
If you use LED bulbs the electricity consumption will be reduced to 50% that means 120 units per year. You save 120 units. If the average rate of electricity is Rs. 8-10 per unit, you will save Rs. 900-1000 per year in electricity uses bill just replacing LED lights only.
